Dual feast days of St Patrick and St Gertrude
St Patrick died on this day,17th March 461 and St. Gertrude of Nivelles died on this day also in 659. While both lead lives in practicing and spreading the Christian faith, it is St. Patrick who is celebrated the most every 17th March as Ireland's patron saint. St. Gertrude on the other hand, is the patron saint of cats for her excellent skill in expelling mice from dwellings.
